The Book

thebook

Hey everyone! How are you? I hope all is well!

The Book (Bible) is the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword, and the Christian’s character. Paradise is restored, heaven opened, and the gates of hell disclosed. Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently, prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. Follow its precepts and it will lead you to Calvary, to the empty tomb, to a resurrected life in Christ; yes, to glory itself, for eternity.

Always, for God’s glory and our joy in Him!

A Contented Life Is

1 Timothy 6 vs.6

Hey everyone! How are you? I hope all is well!

Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.

1 Timothy 6:6 NLT

.

After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.

1 Timothy 6:7 NLT

.

A contented life is having:

Wealth enough to support your needs.

Health enough to make work a pleasure.

Faith enough to make real the things of God.

Grace enough to confess your sins and forsake them.

Patience enough to toil until some good is accomplished.

Love enough to move you to be useful and helpful to others.

Strength enough to battle with difficulties and overcome them.

Hope enough to remove all anxious fears concerning the future.

Always, for God’s glory and our joy in Him!

GOD CAN DO ABUNDANTLY MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE

Hey everyone! How are you? I hope all is well!

I hope today’s blog post grows your faith in God! Remember, “God Can.”

Attempt great things for God and expect great things from God.

–William Carey (1761-1834), English Baptist Missionary

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21 NLT

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20 ESV

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly,…. This is the conclusion of the apostle’s prayer, in which the power of God is celebrated, a perfection which is essential unto God, and is very large and extensive; it reaches to all things, to every thing that he wills, which is his actual or ordinative power; and to more things than he has willed, which is his absolute power; and to all things that have been, are, or shall be, and to things impossible with men; though there are some things which God cannot do, such as are contrary to his nature, inconsistent with his will, his decrees and purposes, which imply a contradiction, and are foreign to truth, which to do would be to deny himself: but then he can do

above all that we ask or think; he can do more than men ask for, as he did for Solomon: God knows what we want before we ask, and he has made provisions for his people before they ask for them; some of which things we never could, and others we never should have asked for, if he had not provided them; and without the Spirit of God we know not what to ask for, nor how to ask aright; this affords great encouragement to go to God, and ask such things of him as we want, and he has provided; and who also can do more than we can think, imagine, or conceive in our minds.

According to the power that worketh in us: either in believers in common, meaning the Spirit of God, who is the finger and power of God, who begins, and carries on, and will finish the work of grace in them, and which is an evidence of the exceeding greatness of the power of God; or in the apostles in particular, in fitting and furnishing them for their work, and succeeding them in it; which is another proof and demonstration of the abundant power of God, and shows what he can do if he pleases.

Today I want to share with you all a video from my brother in Christ Joel Peixoto. He is speaking the TRUTH! May people repent as they watch this from trivializing the name and person of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I love how he uses the Scripture (the Bible) in his poetic flow, amen!

Reflecting on God

Hey everyone! How are you? I hope all is well!

I bought a book yesterday (another one yeah I know I’m a book addict, lol), 2,002 SURPRISING THINGS ABOUT GOD AND THE BILE by Jerry MacGregor & Marie Prys. The best thing was that it only cost me $2.99 which is a great deal. As I skimmed through it before I purchased it I knew it would be a handy book to have in my library. I’ll definitely be using it a lot for this blog.

So let me share a portion of it on here today,

Reflecting on God

Pastor Charles Spurgeon once noted,

“He who often thinks of God, will have a larger mind than the man who simply plods around this narrow globe… The most excellent study for expanding the soul, is the science of Christ, and Him crucified, and the knowledge of the Godhead in the glorious Trinity. Nothing will so enlarge the intellect, nothing so magnify the whole soul of man, as a devout, earnest, continued investigation of the great subject of the Deity.”

This blog serves to bring myself and every reader to think about God. I’m reminded of what Wayne Grudem says in his Systematic Theology book,

“Fullness of joy is found in knowing God and delighting in the excellence of his character. To be in his presence, to enjoy fellowship with him, is a greater blessing than anything that can be imagined.”

The Science of God and his works is called theology. This word is derived from two Greek words, theos and logos, the former meaning “God,” and the latter, “word,” “discourse,” or “doctrine.” In a narrow sense, theology may be defined as “the doctrine of God.” However, in a broad and more usual sense, the term has come to mean all Christian doctrines that deal with the relations of God to the universe.

*In the next few days I’ll be transitioning this blog page over to wordpress.org (I’ve been running it through wordpress.com) so if the site doesn’t show up or says page not found just be patient hoping it’ll be a smooth transition. Bookmark this site, www.kevinnunez.org/blog/ so that you’ll be able to visit again once it’s up and running.
.
Thanks!
